Polish President Karol Nawrocki is set to engage in high-level discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in the United States, with security issues expected to be a central theme. This meeting marks a significant diplomatic engagement on the sidelines of the international event.
Beyond his meeting with Erdoğan, President Nawrocki’s itinerary includes talks with the leaders of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, where regional security will likely dominate the discussions. This series of meetings underscores Poland’s focus on enhancing cooperation and addressing shared security concerns in the region.
Nawrocki’s visit to the United States also includes participating in the General Debate of the UN General Assembly, highlighting Poland’s active role on the global stage. Moreover, he is expected to have discussions with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, UN General Assembly President Chalilur Rahman, and the African Union’s chairperson, indicating a broad scope of diplomatic engagements.
During their visit, President Nawrocki and First Lady Marta Nawrocka paid their respects at the site of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, commemorating the victims in a gesture of solidarity with the United States.
