Polish President Karol Nawrocki has commenced a three-day official visit to the Philippines, aimed at bolstering political, economic, and technological collaborations between the two nations. Accompanied by First Lady Marta Nawrocka, President Nawrocki’s itinerary includes meetings with key Philippine officials and participation in significant bilateral events.
A central feature of the visit is Nawrocki’s scheduled meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The two leaders are expected to engage in bilateral and delegation-level discussions to explore areas of cooperation and further strengthen relations between Poland and the Philippines.
In addition to political talks, President Nawrocki will participate in the 5th Polish-Philippine IT Business Summit, where he plans to engage with participants of a Polish-Philippine hackathon. These events emphasize the focus on technological partnerships and economic opportunities. Furthermore, Nawrocki is set to meet with representatives from businesses in both countries to discuss potential avenues for enhanced economic collaboration.
Education and community engagement are also on Nawrocki’s agenda as he plans to interact with students at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. He will also meet with members of the Polish community and individuals who have contributed to fostering Polish-Philippine relations.
On the final day of his visit, President Nawrocki is scheduled to visit the Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base. This site is notable for housing Black Hawk helicopters, manufactured by Poland’s PZL Mielec, which have been acquired by the Philippine Air Force, symbolizing the defense ties between the two nations.
